McCain Foods – a global company right on your doorstep
McCain Foods is the world’s largest manufacturer of frozen French fries and potato products. Originating from Canada, the company arrived in Britain over 45 years ago, building a manufacturing site in Scarborough, where our GB Head Office still remainstest.
McCain employs almost 1,000 people in the Scarborough area, with roles ranging from engineering to finance, to product innovation.
At McCain, we know that good people are the key ingredient to a successful business. As a longstanding Scarborough company, we’ve always relied on local talent. That’s why we’re committed to supporting the future of education in the town – keeping jobs in our community.
A number of roles in our company require skills in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) subjects. Scarborough UTC will play a huge part in training students who we hope will one day be the bright sparks of McCain’s future.
If you enrol at Scarborough UTC, you’ll have a number of opportunities to see what it’s like working for a global food manufacturer. You might like the look of our engineering apprenticeship scheme or want to learn more about the technical side of product development. You’ll quickly see that hundreds of STEM subject experts are needed to make the nation’s favourite potato products at McCain.
With employees across six continents, we also have a range of opportunities to experience other regional McCain businesses and cultures across the world.
As a responsible family-owned company, we nurture the talents of all our employees and strive to develop skills continuously throughout their career at McCain. As a Scarborough UTC partner, we see great value in investing the same support in the next generation of Scarborough’s workforce.
We’ll be offering resources to help students develop the knowledge and skills needed to become work-ready individuals – a world of opportunity awaits!
