Jasmine – Year 13

How has coming to the UTC benefitted you?
I have done lots of extra-curricular activities that I would never have done at a mainstream school. This has given me insight into the real world of engineering.

Why did you choose to study engineering?
I believe it’s what makes the world go round. I was not good at writing but this is ironic with the amount of written course work I have done!

What are your best memories / experiences here?
There have been lots of crazy experiences in the common room. My WEX was with Alan Wood Engineering and I put to use all that I have learnt.

How has working with employers helped you?
It has helped massively as in CAD and other units, they show us how it actually is.

Where are you going to when you graduate?
University of Leeds to study BENG Civil Engineering. Applied for Quest Scholarship for Civil Engineering.

How will your experiences at the UTC help you in the next stage of your career?
I have excellent research skills and I am able to set and reach my own deadlines. I was Young Inventor plus The Rotary Engineering Competition.
I have had interviews at: Morgan, Sindall, Graham, Galloford Try, Peter Brett and Lain O’Rourke
