The dress code is designed as to prepare learners for work to achieve the following;
- A sense of identity and pride in being part of the UTC
- Reduces the opportunity for one-upmanship via designer clothing
- Identifies the learner as being part of the UTC
- Is practical for the activities to be participated in
KS4 @Scarborough UTC
14 – 16 Male learners
- A matching charcoal grey tailored suit (No skinny /tight fitting trousers)
- A Scarborough UTC pin badge on the lapel of the suit jacket
- A white long or short sleeved shirt with a collar suitable for wearing a tie
- A Scarborough UTC tie
- A grey plain V-necked jumper (not sweatshirt) if required
- Smart black shoes (not trainers or work boots). See examples on next page.
- A dark coat for outside wear (no logos)
14 – 16 Female learners
- A matching charcoal grey tailored suit (either skirt or trousers, however skirts should be of knee length or longer)
- A Scarborough UTC pin badge on the lapel of the suit jacket
Workshop and Laboratory clothing
- A white laboratory coat
- A navy blue cotton laboratory coat for engineering practical sessions
- A pair of black safety shoes or boots
- The UTC will provide ear and eye protection
Sports and PE Activities
As most of the sporting activities will take place off-site, it is important that learners wear kit with the UTC logo on it so that learners can be readily identified at a distance by staff. Students not complying with the dress code will not be allowed to participate in sporting or off-site activities.
- Navy blue T shirt with UTC logo / sweatshirt with UTC logo
- Navy shorts /joggers
- Navy blue or white socks
- Trainers /boots (without extreme logos)
Sixth Form @Scarborough UTC
Male learners
- A matching tailored suit in either: grey, black or dark blue. (No skinny /tight fitting trousers)
- A Scarborough UTC pin badge on the lapel of the suit jacket
- A plain long or short sleeved shirt
- A tie (optional)
- A plain V-necked jumper (not sweatshirt) if required
- Smart shoes (not trainers or work boots)
- A dark coat for outside wear (no logos)
Female learners
- A matching tailored suit in either: grey, black or dark blue (either skirt or trousers, however skirts should be of knee length or longer)
- A Scarborough UTC pin badge on the lapel of the suit jacket
- A plain long or short sleeved blouse
- A tie (optional)
- A plain V-necked jumper (not sweatshirt) if required
- Smart shoes (not trainers or work boots. No open toes or heels over 50mm)
- A dark coat for outside wear (no logos)
